LPU Davao Featured Employee of the Month: Mr.Neil Adryan D. Dacudao, RMT
“To be contented does not mean you don’t desire more, it means you’re thankful for that you have and patient for what is to come.” – Neil Adryan D. Dacudao
Mr. Neil Adryan was born on Born on December 11, 1993 and was raised in Davao and he is the eldest among the three children of Mary Grace D. Dacudao & Von Akib A. Dacudao.
He was not an achiever nor part of the talented students but playing sports was his thing. He is a student athlete way back in high school, juggling trainings and his academics was a struggle but he learned to manage and deal with it until it became a norm to be up to until his college years. His college life started great with trainings because he was automatically part of the Volleyball varsity team but then another humbling experience which he considered one of his greatest achievements came and that is becoming a student leader. He was part of the organization leaders since 1st year up to 4th year. The most challenging was when he became the Organization President when he was in 3rd year juggling his responsibilities as the organization president, being an athlete with training almost every day, and most especially his academics, it was a hell of a ride, but it was one of his college experiences that molded him to whom who he is today. Sir Neil did not stop being a student leader/student athlete, when he was in his 4th year, he was part of the school supreme student council serving not just his fellow medical technology students but the whole student body, it was another challenge for Sir Neil because he was also a BSMT Intern at that time. Finally, he graduated Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science last 2014 and Masters of Science in Medical Technology last 2021.
Sir Neil was once a volleyball silver medalist from first year to third year, he was also one of the most outstanding sophomore awardees for the school year 2011- 2012, he was also one of the three most outstanding president for the school year 2012-2013, he was also awarded as “Masaligan Ka” for the school year 2013-2014, he was also an outstanding in extra and co-curricular activities awardee and a departmental service awardee.
He worked as a Licensed Medical Technologist in various clinical laboratories from 2015-2016, he was also a review assistant and review coordinator from 2015-2016 and was a Medical Technology faculty and coordinator from year 2016 up to present.
Teaching was never in his mind when he graduated, but with Sir Neil’s experiences working as a rotating medical technologist inside the laboratory made him re-think his plans and eventually worked as a fulltime faculty now, he is now contented in doing it even if he is now faced with administration work where it would need time and effort to do, he has finally learned to deal with it and find joy in working.
Sir Neil is contented and happy. Teaching was not part of the plan when he graduated but now it is part of him. Helping the future generation, molding them into what they are destined to become is a great responsibility but seeing them achieve their goal in becoming a licensed professional is now his greatest achievement as a teacher. Working here in LPU-Davao gave him a whole new experience, working with his professor’s way back in college and most especially a long side great professors form the different departments inspired him to become better with his craft and pushed him exert more effort in teaching. So far, for almost one year of being part of the LPU-D family Sir Neil can say that he is really happy and contented and looking forward for more years in being of service to the LPU-D community.
Finally, his message to students is to keep pushing yourself and never give up.” If you feel down, unmotivated, and pressured just remind yourself why you started. Remind yourself that success is sweeter when you worked hard for it. There might come a time that you will fail but keep in mind that “failure is success in progress”, it is part of the process that you will sometimes fail, but it will make you stronger and wiser. “Self-belief and hard work will always earn you success.”
