With the demand for the hospitality management and culinary courses rapidly increasing, LPU Davao made sure to take the lead in meeting the demands of not only of students but of hobbyists as well, especially in providing quality education and state-of-the-art laboratories for its target stakeholders.
On February 3, 2020, LPU Davao awarded the contract to SMMASCARDO and ProSteel Industries to design and build Le Café, a state-of-the-art fine dining laboratory to be built inside the campus for the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management students and International Culinary Institute students of LPU Davao. The Le Café is expected to be operational before the start of the upcoming school year.
Moreover, Le Café will also be a working restaurant and will operate as a business unit for employees, guests, and students of LPU Davao.
“Not many schools offering BS Hospitality Management have a real honest-to- goodness fine dining laboratory. We are different in LPU Davao because we are part of the LPU network, and we take pride in taking the lead in so far as Hospitality Management education is concerned.” Dr. Felipe J. Balingit Jr., Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of LPU Davao, said in an interview.
Le Café is an integral part of the LPU Network. It is an “on campus restaurant operated by students, frequented by the academic community and its guests.” A fully equipped Bay Leaf Hotel with a reception area, hotel suites and housekeeping laboratories.
