“A teacher takes a HAND, opens a MIND, and touches a HEART”. – Engr. Joel P. Jardeloza

Engr. Joel P. Jardeloza was married on December 17, 1988 to his loving wife, Mrs. Leonaida Alaan-Jardeloza, a Subject Area Head Coordinator in Filipino at Ateneo Grade School, Matina campus. They have four children, namely, John Mahl A. Jardeloza, Ellaine John A. Jardeloza, Ma. Wella Lou A. Jardeloza, and Karla Mae A. Jardeloza. Engr. Joel’s provincial address was in Purok 5, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.

In November 1984, Sir Joel completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and became a licensed chemical engineer. He then pursued a Master’s degree in Arts in Teaching College Chemistry, which he completed in March 1998.

Aside from that, Sir Joel is also a member of some specific organizations, namely, the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers—Cebu Chapter, Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity—Beta Gamma Chapter, the Philippine Science and Math Council—Cebu Chapter, and (FAPE) Fund Assistance to Private Educators—the agency that funded his scholarship to finish his master’s degree.

From 2006–2008, Sir Joel worked as a lecturer in advanced placement chemistry at the College Preparatory Program (CPP)–Saudi Aramco Training Center, Dharan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also became the Quality Assurance Analyst/Plant Supervisor at Laboratory Analyst/Plant Supervisor – David M. Consunji Group of Companies (DACON) from November 1988 to March 1995. He then teaches Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics to the Pharmacy and Chemistry students at the University of the Immaculate Conception.

When asked about how he feels right now working at LPU Davao, he shared, “I admire LPU-Davao for the sort of academic freedom that I experienced from them,” Sir Joel said of the institution. “Our academic director, together with the LPU-President, are superb and always extend their help to us, especially if it is for the sake of the students.“

And lastly, his message to his students: “To my students, always remember that you are the future of our country,” Engr. Joel said. If I ever get irritated with your responses to my questions, it’s because I expected you to think thoroughly about them and I hoped you would answer far better than I had in mind. To put it another way, I want you to be a lot better than I am. “

“Remember, as one of my favorite sayings goes, “A teacher takes a HAND, opens a MIND, and touches a HEART.”
